In commercial kitchens, healthcare and education, a floor has to be easy to clean and leave nowhere for dirt or water to collect. We heat-weld the seams of sheet vinyl and safety flooring, then form coved skirtings that run the floor up the wall. The result is one continuous, watertight surface that's easy to keep clean.
Recent project: Marmoleum in hospital theatre areas
We fitted Forbo Marmoleum sheet linoleum through the theatre corridors and circulation areas at the Nuffield hospital. Every seam is heat-welded, and the floor runs up the walls as a coved skirting, formed by hand around columns, curved walls and door frames so there are no corners for dirt to collect.
Detailing like this is what infection-control teams look for, and it's the part of the job that takes real experience to get right.
