Recent job: Yarnton Manor, near Oxford

Yarnton Manor is a 17th-century manor house in Yarnton, just outside Oxford. We were brought in to prepare the floor in one of its panelled rooms, working alongside an extremely sought-after French polisher.
We removed the existing stain, then sanded and edged the whole floor to an extremely fine finish, ready to take a new oil stain and seal. The team at Yarnton Manor gave us extremely positive feedback on the work.

Repair first, then sand
Good restoration starts with repairs: replacing damaged boards with matching reclaimed timber, re-fixing loose blocks, and filling gaps where needed. Then we sand in stages from coarse to fine for a smooth, even surface.
Finishes to suit your floor
- Hard-wearing lacquers in matt, satin or gloss
- Natural oil finishes that are easy to spot-repair
- Stains to change or match the colour
- Dust-extracted sanding to keep mess to a minimum
Ongoing care & maintenance
We can also re-coat and maintain floors so they stay in good condition. A light re-coat every few years is far cheaper than a full re-sand.
Questions we're often asked
How long does sanding take?
It depends on the size and condition of the floor. We'll give you a clear timescale with your quote, including drying time before you can use the room.
Can you sand parquet?
Yes. We re-fix any loose blocks first, then sand and refinish.
